ABOUT THE EVENT
Perhaps never before in the history of corporate American has politics so boldly entered the boardroom. In just the last year President Trump called for the CEO of Intel to resign and a director of Netflix to resign. He has also appeared to take an active role on antitrust and other regulatory issues. Some of President Trump’s appointments to various regulatory agencies have also been thought of as more partisan than their predecessors.
This has created new challenges for boards as they try to navigate the important business issues of the day, ranging from M&A to responding to potential social media attacks by the President or a government administrator, as well as trying to navigate policy differences between the US and much of the rest of the world on such issues as climate change.
How should boards and executives navigate these issues today? Our panel will cover these issues from a variety of perspectives, bringing together experts from a number of different areas to discuss the challenges of today, what tomorrow may look like and how to best respond to this environment.
